Suffragists Represented at Opening Reception

Propylaeum suffragists made a statement at the opening reception for the Indiana Historical Society’s Festival of Trees held on November 15. The Propylaeum sponsored tree, “The Suffragists Gift,” was designed by Bev Watkins. Cindy Dillman assisted with decorations and Diane Tolliver assisted with research on Indiana suffragists. Propylaeum’s founder May Wright Sewall, and others are highlighted in framed photos filling the tree decorated in appropriate colors of purple, white, and gold. Prop Day Tradition Returns

On Wednesday, December 18 the Propylaeum will welcome Ms. Celestine Bloomfield for our Prop Day Program. Bloomfield is a member of the Storytellers Guild of Indianapolis and is a retired teacher. Bloomfield tells stories to all ages, and tailors performances for specific occasions. She promises enjoyable, multicultural folklore, holiday stories, and personal narratives based around the holidays from her own cultural perspective.
