May Wright Sewall State Historical Marker Dedication

A public dedication ceremony for an Indiana state historical marker commemorating renowned women’s suffrage leader May Wright Sewall is scheduled for Friday, October 4, 2019. The marker dedication will begin at 2:00 p.m. in Veterans Memorial Plaza, along the south side of E. North St. between Meridian St. and Pennsylvania St. Metered parking is available along the streets nearby. "Ain't I a Woman?" The Evolution of Women in Politics - A Spirit & Place Event

What stories and beliefs were passed down to you about women’s suffrage? Come and explore the varied ways different populations experienced suffrage and other aspects of the women’s movement at “Ain’t I a Woman?” on November 7 from 6:00-8:30. The Propylaeum has partnered with central Indiana organizations to develop an evening of cultured conversation over dinner to explore the segregated women’s movement and how each person can make a difference in the future. The Marilyn K. Glick Women’s Enrichment Series continues to be a huge success at the Propylaeum. Looking forward to the 2020-2021 Series, who would you like to hear speak? The Women’s Enrichment Series is an annual, three-part lecture series featuring Indiana women who have “broken the mold.” This series offers a chance for the community to meet and hear from pillars of the community, including top philanthropists, pioneers in the judiciary, corporate sector leaders, athletes, and activists. The program is named in honor of Marilyn K. Glick, a woman who led civic groups, founded charitable programs and gave generously to the causes she championed.
