Propylaeum Porch Concert Series
The Indianapolis Propylaeum is proud to announce our new 2021 Porch Concert Series. This series will feature four ensembles performing on the beautiful Propylaeum porch this summer. From June to September, the outdoor concerts allow guests to socially distance on our expansive lawn while enjoying different styles of music. 2020 left a hole in the hearts of Indy music-lovers and this live performance series will help to bridge the gap between online-only events and fully staged indoor productions.
The first three concerts in the series are free with a suggested donation, and the final concert is $10 per person. Food and drinks will be available for purchase at each event and there will also be outdoor friendly activities, such as a photo station and door prizes. June 4, 2021 8:00 p.m.
We kick off the series on June 4th with Indy-based jazz band, Premium Blend. Led by saxophonist Jared Thompson, Premium Blend is a modern jazz quartet that combines traditional elements of bebop and hard bop with R&B and groove.

In our 2nd concert on July 9th we welcome back the “Propylaeum String Quartet,” that some of you may recognize from our 2020 porch concert or from their Salon performance. The quartet features 4 members of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, including Concertmaster Kevin Lin.
August 13, 2021 8:00 p.m.
Our August Concert will feature concert featured Indy-based new classical ensemble, Forward Motion. The Propylaeum and Classical Music Indy have partnered for the world premiere of four new works from Classical Music Indy's 2021 Micro Composition Project. Forward Motion specializes in performing works by living composers, and puts a focus on commissioning, premiering, and recording works by Indiana composers. This concert will also feature introductions by several of the composers themselves.
September 17, 2021 8:00 p.m.
Our last concert of the series will feature local polka band, Indy Polkamotion. As the final concert in our 2021 series, we'll be kicking Oktoberfest off early with a festival-style concert. Come for the music, stay for the activities, food, and fun!
