May Prop Day - Celebrating Nurturing Women

Mother, mentor, trusted friend. Who has played one of these roles in your life?

Come celebrate these women at our May Prop Day Luncheon in the historic Carriage House at the Indianapolis Propylaeum. Following lunch, guests will hear the inspiring story of mother/daughter team Carrie and Eva Abbot.

Carrie Abbott is the CEO/Founder of Newfangled Confections and owner of The Best Chocolate in Town. Carrie began her career in the sweets industry after accidently creating her signature product, Frittle, when creating a dessert for a wedding reception. Carrie then took her new creation and from that Newfangled Confections was born in 2012. Carrie's business only grew from there and in 2020 she acquired a local artisan chocolatier, "The Best Chocolate in Town". Carrie's second daughter, Eva, takes after her mother and has made quite a name for herself in the baking industry around Indianapolis. Eva is currently a 9th grader at Heritage Christian School and was recently featured in an article titled, "Born with a Spatula in Hand" in the Edible Indy November 2021 magazine issue.

This luncheon will take place in the carriage house at the Indianapolis Propylaeum. Lunch will be served from 12:00 - 1:00 PM. Following lunch, Carrie and Eva Abbott will share about topics including, but not limited to: the experience of being a woman business owner, Carrie and Eva's special bond with baking, and what the future holds for the both of them. Additionally, each guest will receive a complimentary Newfangled Confections dessert.
