March is Women's History Month: Pages at the Prop to Feature Dr. Maria Bucur

The Propylaeum welcomes Dr. Maria Bucur to discuss her book, The Century of Women: How Women Transformed the World Since 1900. The book takes a world-wide look at progress and inequality that have developed since women entered the workforce, higher education and the political arena beginning with women’s suffrage.

Bucur has researched the continuing economic gender gap and how women around the world have developed and benefitted from new economic opportunities.

Dr. Maria Bucur is a John W. Hill Professor of History at the Indiana University Bloomington College of Arts and Sciences. She has taught courses on the idea of Europe, film and history, memory and war, gender in Modern Europe, comparative feminisms, as well as communism in Europe.
