Suffrage Wrap-Up

September 15, 2020

The Prop has had a banner year in the commemoration of the passage of the 19th Amendment. We have focused on the history of the suffrage movement, but have also discussed the continuing women’s movement, and what it means for voting rights today.

At a combination in-person and virtual celebration, President Rose Wernicke began the recap of events with, “I am struck by the fact that the Prop was made for this!”

Wernicke applauded the efforts, saying, “I am proud of how the members, staff and partners have come together to plan such a range of quality programs and activities. Each of you played a role in the success and I thank you for your efforts and participation.” A video of the wrap-up celebration will be available on the Indianapolis Propylaeum YouTube channel in a few weeks.
