Thank You Salon Volunteers

The 17th Salon Annual Society on April 28 was an enormous success. Wonderful entertainment was provided by ISO principal cellist Austin Huntington, accompanied by Kent Cook on piano. Special thanks to Debra Renkens for arranging such fine musicians.
After the performance we adjourned to the carriage house for the silent auction, live auction and wine pull. It was very lively, especially during the live auction when bidding became very competitive for each auction item. Live auction items included a two-night stay at French Lick Resort, an evening stay at the Propylaeum for up to 15 guests, and a wonderful Italian lunch for four catered by Carol Faenzi that also included four copies of her book The Stonecutters Aria.
Diane Tolliver worked her fingers to the bone to make the auctions a success and Gloria Harbin managed the wine pull with abundant success. All but 2 of the silent auction items sold. Who could have imagined that an Absinthe basket would be the top selling silent auction item? Even the passes to the Wheel of Fortune TV show and autographed pictures of Vanna White and Pat Sajak are now in the hands of one of our guests!
Dinner was served in the mansion, catered by MBP Distinctive Catering.
Thank you to the Salon Society Committee: Jill Lough Chambers, Amanda Nierman, Gloria Harbin, Nancy Roth, Melissa Smith, Diane Tolliver, Monica Vojnovich, and Rose Wernicke. Thank you to our day-of volunteers, Ruth Black, Danielle Reed, Robert Conley, Gerry Solomon, and Alisia Morales.
Thank you to everyone who attended and participated in the auctions and wine pull to make the 2019 Salon a success earning a total of $24,891 for the maintenance of the house. After the live auction, bidding was open for fund-a-need and an additional $25,000.00 was pledged. What a night!
Thank you all,
Cathy Michel Diane Tolliver
