Searching for Women of the Prop

After 130 years as an organization, we have had many individuals who have been members. I am an obituary reader and have found wonderful testimonies of the accomplished women who have been a part of the Propylaeum. While working on projects related to the Women’s Suffrage Centennial, I continue to search for Prop members who were part of the movement. Of course, our founder, May Wright Sewall, was involved even at an international level. But what about other women? Katharine Greenough, on the Prop’s Board in the 1940s, was a member of the Woman’s Franchise League and was active in forming the National League of Women Voters organization. She wrote and edited pamphlets on voting for national distribution. Stay tuned for more sketches of our previous members.
